7th Police District Council
Election Day · February 23, 2027
Why I’m running again
I ran to make this new office useful. We have begun to show what is possible.
I have shown up, studied the issues, communicated publicly, challenged power, and carried residents’ priorities into citywide conversations. I am asking for another term because this work is unfinished, and the people of the 7th District deserve independent, visible leadership.
A life of service
Service did not begin with elected office.
Dion is a U.S. Army National Guard veteran who served in Afghanistan, a former school teacher, and a public health professional. Across every role, the assignment has been the same: listen closely, do the work, and stand with people when it matters.

The next term
Accountability, care, and community voice.
Real police accountability
Independent oversight, transparent public communication, and persistent follow-through when systems fall short.
Mental health response that works
Expand Chicago Crisis Assistance Response and Engagement, known as CARE, and strengthen alternatives that send the right response to the right call.
A council residents can use
Make public safety information understandable, bring resident priorities into citywide decisions, and keep the 7th District Council visible and accessible.
Work already underway
From proposal
to policy.
Dion helped advance a priority proposal through adoption by the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability. He continues working to improve traffic and investigatory-stop policy, strengthen mental-health response, and expand successful alternatives such as Chicago CARE.
